Prevention: Keeping Your Teeth Healthy

Prevention and early intervention are critical to maintaining cavity free teeth.

Thorough brushing and regular flossing generally will prevent most dental disease.

Fluride gels and rinses are recommended for the cavity prone and to help remineralize weak enamel.

Lately much discussion is centered on acid wear of enamel due to ingestion of too many acidic foods and drinks. Certain toothpastes  have been formulated to address these concerns.

Many patients benefit from wearing hard nightguards on the upper teeth  to lessen the damage caused from clenching and grinding.

  • Regular prophys remove plaque and tartar to help prevent periodontal disease.

•Teeth Polishing removes stain and any residual plaque left on the teeth.

• Patient Education on brushing and flossing techniques and care of the teeth and gums.

• Periodontal evaluation to determine the health of gums and the
supporting structure which is done at every recall appointment.

• Deep cleaning i.e. scaling and root planing when needed for nonsurgical periodontal therapy

• Oral cancer screening of the tongue, tissues, floor of mouth, gums, etc. Oral CDX brush biopsy available.

• Evaluate clenching, grinding of teeth for wear. Hard night guards available.

  • Fabrication of Silent Nite anti-snoring appliances
